Small Garage Workshop Space Saving Material Storage
Просмотров 88 тыс.4 месяца назад
This project was way overdue. I had lumber and material all over my property and I needed to get it stored in my small single-garage workshop. Space is in short supply in my workshop so I had to utilize an often overlooked area. Overhead. Storing my lumber and material overhead allows me to utilize previously wasted space. It also allows me to clear the floor making it easier to move around in ...

Maximizing Garage Workshop Storage - Spray Paint and Chemical Cans

Building the Ultimate Single Garage Workshop requires out-of-the-box thinking. Multi-functional organization and storage is how I hope to achieve this goal. Completely flawed premise... He uses rolling/sliding panels instead of hinged doors because they doors would supposedly require too much space in front... but then he adds 3 doors that swing out in front anyway.

Ive been enjoying your stuff for the last week or so. I wasn't quite sure what it was that had me ,other than the innovative small shop stuff, and then it came to me... NO POCKET HOLES. Wow, someone who doesn't turn his projects into Swiss cheese as well as compromising the structural integrity. Now don't get me wrong I have been known to use a pocket hole when absolutely necessary. It's just so refreshing to see some woodworking. Keep it up, from another colonial but in the great white north. jim

Is there a follow up to this? I'm in the middle of redesigning my whole garage to take it to more of a 'shop' than the "storage unit with a shop buried in there somewhere" that it is now. I use CAD software everyday, so I've been designing modular workbenches combining multiple ideas from RUclips, but also wanted to also try to incorporate the advantages that large workstations have (like your original). Love the idea of positive alignment between benches. Really would like to see where you went with these as I'm designing mine. I love your channel, and the way you analyze, plan, and design. It's really inspiring

Great to see you seemingly pretty much recovered, you are on my A-list for bookmarks I check regularly. I think outside of being a handsome man (don't blush ;) , many of us enjoy your nice voice (and accent) too and keep a good volume when watching your smart projects. If you could dampen some of the highpitch tools a bit more, like the edgerouter (the sander and drill is not a problem) it would avoid needing to quickly reduce volume not to get that small pain for the ears. Wish you the all the best and good health down there in SA. 💪👏

I have to say, I watch lots of content on RUclips about woodworking, from renovations to epoxy tables, as a general site carpenter I just find it all interesting and feel that there is always an opportunity to learn something… but I watch your videos knowing that I will never personally use anything that I learn from them, they are so environment specific and based on the hobbyist world that they are not likely to include anything that I would ever benefit from, but I still watch them all because they are so impressive I can’t help myself. You a clearly do what you do for the love of it, and the things you design and build go above and beyond what us “tradesman” are capable of producing. How on earth you think up these designs and then make them into actual pieces that function properly is so impressive. Hats off to you mate. Sam

I did laminate two mdf sheets and used it for the top, for an even more solid work top, with a mitred trim around. All good. I received my plans. Super clear and concise. The only things I will change is a round over bit rather than a chamfer and will have to play with the height to serve as an outfeed table for my portable saw table. Any suggestions? I don't see that a change in height will make any difference in the plan mechanism. Is there anything I should be aware of? I'm going to love this table.

Great plan. Really enjoyed everything. One thought I saw was basic caster wheel incorporated into the stable hinge, instead of screwed on to the bottom side. This would allow for narrow design possible larger wheel. The stable hinge is the pivot one and a simple Axle between the legs should allow for a cleaner esthetic.
